Formed in 2001, Vendeloo is a boutique-sized, New York City-based management consultancy focused on growing revenue and solving strategic business challenges for both emerging and well-established brands in the areas of technology, telecommunications, consumer electronics, fashion and accessories, lifestyle products, professional services, home and garden, health and beauty, healthcare, food and beverage, sports, media and entertainment, personal publicity, book marketing, retail, and not-for-profit.

Staffed entirely by seasoned professionals, Vendeloo behaves like an extension of our client’s executive and marketing teams, moving quickly to help identify and solve problems and construct strategic and pragmatic plans that help deliver on overall business objectives.

PRINCIPALS

Wendy E. Simmons
Wendy Simmons has built a 30-year career in management consulting, marketing and communications, helping companies of all sizes, across nearly every industry, identify and solve strategic business challenges and grow revenue.

In 2001, she founded Vendeloo Incorporated, a boutique-size management and marketing consultancy focused on developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies, identifying and fostering strategic relationships, and advising senior management on overall business strategy.

Concurrently, from August 2006 through August 2016, she served as President and Chief Brand & Marketing Officer of MOSCOT, a Vendeloo client, during which time she evolved the company from a small, local family retailer with two Manhattan-based stores selling third-party products, into a renown, multimillion dollar, international fashion brand. She created and implemented the company’s brand identity across all channels, as well as directing all of the company’s international and domestic communications and marketing. In addition, she developed the domestic and international wholesale distribution network include over 1200 specialty stores in more than 60 countries, in addition six mono-branded MOSCOT retail shops, three of which are international.

Prior to forming Vendeloo, Wendy was Founder and President of Mindstorm Communications, a highly respected communications and marketing agency. Within two years, she grew Mindstorm to a team of 65 professionals and $7 million in annual revenue representing more than 75 clients, including Sony Electronics, Screaming Media, Cablevision, Silicon Graphics and Reebok, with offices in New York, San Francisco, Boston and Washington DC.

When Golin/Harris International, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Interpublic Group of Companies, acquired Mindstorm, Wendy served as Executive Vice President of the agency’s New York City office, leading the consumer and technology business-to-business practices, and serving as strategic counselor to key clients before leaving the agency to form Vendeloo.

Prior to starting Mindstorm, Wendy served as Senior Vice President at TSI Communications, one of the nation’s largest and most respected technology communications firms, where she led both the Sony and Business-to-Business account teams, representing close to 30% of TSI’s overall revenue. During her tenure at TSI, she tripled the Sony Electronics account to several million dollars per year and expanded the agency’s role to support all divisions of Sony Electronics including Sony Latin America. She also formed TSI’s Business-to-Business PR practice, and in less than three years, grew the practice to $2 million in revenue per year, working with nearly 40 companies in diverse areas of technology, both domestic and internationally.

An award-winning photographer, Wendy is an intrepid and passionate world traveler who’s explored over 85 countries and counting. Her writing has also been published in Travel & Leisure, and on TravelandLeisure.com, PopSugar, OnMogul, MSN,Yahoo, and other outlets.

Her first book, the best-selling, “My Holiday in North Korea; The Funniest Worst Place on Earth” was published on May 3, 2016 by RosettaBooks.

Wendy has extensive public speaking experience, including national and local television and radio appearances.

She has also owned a bar in Manhattan named Belly, worked for a lobbying firm on Capitol Hill, written a Japanese-language phrase book, formed a non-profit to bring free eye exams and eyeglasses to New York City’s underserved populations, and taught advanced reading and math to the smart kids at a private school in Washington, D.C.

Wendy graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from George Washington University (with semesters spent in Spain and Japan) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Japanese. Her Japanese is now terrible, but her Pig Latin is flourishing.

Wendy practices Muay Thai daily, loves any and all adventures, and is addicted to renovating. She now calls New Orleans’ Garden District home, where she lives in Warwick Manor, a converted 1800s pink mansion that once served as a private school for children of the affluent. It’s currently being renovated.

Sara Ng
Sara Ng is a seasoned marketing and communications executive with both international and domestic experience, specializing in traditional media relations, digital marketing and social media management, content creation and ideation, as well as global brand strategy.

Prior to joining Vendeloo, Sara served as the Public Relations and Marketing Manager at luxury eyewear brand, MOSCOT, where she helped lead global media relations; assist in the implementation of MOSCOT’s now thriving social media platforms; and provide daily marketing and brand support to international wholesale distributors of the brand, direct retail support to 1200 specialty retail shops in more than 60 countries, as well as six MOSCOT-branded retail locations worldwide.

A sometimes painter, and occasional guest writer on beauty site, Beauty Banter by Sarah Howard, Sara graduated with Distinction from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Design and a Minor in Marketing. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of Apex for Youth’s Associate Board, a New York City-based non-profit delivering opportunities to underserved Asian American youth through mentoring and educational programs.
